Beck was selected as a territorial pick by the Philadelphia Warriors in the 1953 NBA Draft.

He played for the Warriors from 1953 to 1954, then briefly for the Lancaster Red Roses in 1954 before returning to the Warriors from 1955 to 1960. Beck played for the St. Louis Hawks and Syracuse Nationals in 1961, and for the Sunbury Mercuries in the Eastern Professional Basketball League from 1961 to 1964.

He was selected to the All-EPBL Second Team in 1963 and served as Head Coach of the Mercuries during the 1963–64 season.
