LeBron: Streak Record Not Our Goal

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James insists his side isn’t targetting the 33-game winning streak record held by the LA Lakers side from the early 70s.

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James insists his side isn’t targetting the 33-game winning streak record held by the LA Lakers side from the early 70s.

The Heat have won 27 consecutive matches and could add another win to the belt against Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.

However, James said: “It’s not a goal and has never been a goal of mine.

“Our historic run is about winning championships.”

Heat forward Shane Battier, who played a key part in their NBA triumph last season with his three-point shooting, reiterated James’ stance.

“There’s no talk of numbers in this locker room,” Battier said.

“It doesn’t matter. The only thing we’re concerned about is maximizing this team.”
