In the most important game… to Minnesota Lynx fans!…. the Lynx finally broke their 5-game losing streak by defeating the New York Liberty, 91-69, avenging their heart-breaking 77-76 loss to the Liberty last week. lynx seimone augustus

For the Lynx, Seimone Augustus scored 21 points and had nine assists. Nicole Ohlde finished with 14 points, Anna DeForge had 13 (and in the process surpassed 300 3-pointers made in her career) and rookie Candice Wiggins added 15 points.

For the Liberty, Shameka Christon scored 20 points. Ashley Battle put in 17. Center Janell McCarville had a bad shooting night, only scoring 4 points.

The Connecticut Sun beat the Detroit Shock, 85-68. The Sun had losts five in a row to the Shock, but were the better team tonight. Asjha Jones scored 20 points and rookie Amber Holt added a career-high 19 for the Sun.

For the Shock, Deanna Nolan put in 17 points. Katie Smith had 16.

The Indiana Fever got back on the winning track by defeating the Sacramento Monarchs, 78-73.
