The Olympics in China are just months away, and the Women’s National Team has finally been chosen. At least, nine of the players are now known, three are yet to be chosen:
Candace Parker, rookie for the Los Angeles Sparks. Lisa Leslie, seasoned veteran for the Sparks. Katie Smith of the Detroit Shock (her 3rd Olympics) Tina Thompson of the Houston Comets Diana Taurasi of the winless Phoenix Mercury Sue Bird of the Seattle Storm Cappie Pondexter of the Phoenix Mercury Seimone Augustus of the Lynx Sylvia Fowles, rookie for the Chicago Sky
The U.S. Olympic coach is Anne Donovan said.
The other three members will be announced by July 1. Possible candidates include Kara Lawson, Swin Cash, Lindsey Harding and Lindsay Whalen.
