In a nail biting match against the Pistons on Friday 30th may 2008, Celtics found their way through to the finals. Celtics defeated the Pistons with a score of 89-81. The Boston Celtics played an amazing game to get over the Pistons.
Paul Pierce scored 27 points, Ray Allen had 17 and Kevin Garnett added 16 to take the Celtics to an 89-81 victory and brought an end to the stop Detroit Pistons run on Friday night in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. The Pistons appreciated the Celtics for their well deserved win.
The Celtics celebrated their 89-81 victory over the Pistons and made it to the NBA finals after a long period of 21 years. The Celtics last faced the Lakers in the 1987 NBA finals where they lost to the Lakers. The upcoming game is said to be the game of the year. It would be a classic scenario.
The Celtics defeated the Pistons at their home court twice in the series of six games. After playing for a long series of games, the team was emotionally drained.
Boston will be hosting the first game in the NBA finals series. The team is all set to face Kobe Bryant who has been in an outstanding form this season.
