Tobi Neal Stoner is a professional American baseball player born in Germany, and plays as a pitcher. Stoner was born in Landstuhl and moved to the United State of America for his school and college education. He joined the Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia, playing baseball for the college team. Despite being an unlikely sport for a German, Stoner excelled at it but his progress was hampered by the lower division status of his college team.

The status became irrelevant when it was time for Stoner to get picked in the draft. In the 16th round of the 2006 MLB Draft, Stoner was picked in the 16th round by the New York Mets.

Stoner began his Mets career with the Brooklyn Cyclones in the Low A-Division, pitching in 14 games as their starting pitcher. In 83.2 innings, Stoner went at an ERA of 2.15 with a 6-2 record. He moved up to the A-Division at the start of the 2007 season, playing with the Savannah Sand Gnats before moving up within the year to the Advanced A-Division to play with the St. Lucie Mets.

Stoner began 2008 with the St. Lucie Mets and after a stellar 2.60 ERA over 9 games, he was pushed up to the Binghampton Mets in the AA-League. Stoner ended the 2008 season with the Binghampton Mets and the following season, started off with them as well. A 2.68 ERA and a 2-2 record over 7 games saw him get promoted to the AAA-League, playing with the Buffalo Bisons.

Towards the end of 2009, Stoner got a call up to the MLB roster for the New York Mets, making his debut and then going on to play three more games at the end of the season. Stoner is a part of the 2010 MLB roster for the New York Mets.
