Jon Link
Jon Edward Link is a professional baseball player from the United State of America and plays as a pitcher. A student at the Chantilly High School, Link played for the Chargers before getting enrolled at the Virginia Commonwealth University. After just two seasons in the NCAA, Link declared for the 2005 MLB Amateur Draft and was picked at 788th overall by the San Diego Padres.
Link began his professional career with the Eugene Emeralds in the Low A-League. His 3-3 record and 4.42 ERA got him into the Fort Wayne Wizards for a 2006 season in the A-League. Link was traded out to the Chicago White Sox and joined up in the Advanced A-League to play with the Winston-Salem Warthogs.
In 2008, he moved up to the AA-League, playing for the Birmingham Barons and was named to the Southern League All-Star Game after pitching at 3.02 over 56.2 innings with a win-loss record of 5-4 and 34 saves. In 2009, Link moved up to the Charlotte Knights in the AAA-League where he pitched at 3.99 before being traded out to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers signed Link on a minor league contract with an invite to Spring Training. He was later named to the 40-man roster for the 2010 season.
