Ramon Jose Troncoso is a professional baseball pitcher hailing from the Dominican Republic. Troncoso was a full-time professional player before he entered the MLB, playing at the local Dominican Summer League for three seasons. In 2002, he was signed up by the Los Angeles Dodgers as an undrafted free agent and sent to the Dominican Summer League.

It was only in 2005, after three seasons, that Troncoso returned to the MLB and joined up with the Ogden Raptors in the Rookie League. Troncoso led the team with 13 saves on the way to a 6-2 record and a 3.68 ERA in 29 games. He moved up to the A-League within the same season for another 13 games with the Columbus Catfish.

Troncoso began 2006 with the Catfish, pitching 33.2 innings at an ERA of 2.41 and a 4-0 record. He moved up to the Vero Beach Dodgers, in the Advanced A-League, within the same season, and went on to be named as the 22nd best prospect in the Dodgers’ organization.

Troncoso began 2007 with the Inland Empire 66ers and then moved onto the Jacksonville Suns on the way to being added to the 40-man roster. After being designated to the Las Vegas 51s at the beginning of the 2008 season, the Dodgers decided to call Troncoso up to make his debut against the San Francisco Giants. He played a part of the season with the 51s, spending the remaining time with the MLB outfit, ending with a 1-1 record and a 4.26 ERA in the MLB.

In 2009, Troncoso was a full-time Dodger, pitching in 73 games at an ERA of 2.72 with a 5-4 record, earning immense praise for his achievements.
