Christopher Daniel Britton was born on December 16, 1982 in Hollywood, Florida. He is a right-handed relief pitcher, currently playing for the New York Yankees.

Chris is 6’ 3”, weighs 275 pounds, and bats and throws right.

High School Chris attended Plantation High School in Florida.

Minor Leagues Chris was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 8th round of the 2001 draft, and made his way through the Baltimore farm system.

Baltimore Orioles As a rookie with the Orioles in 2006, Chris made 52 relief appearances, beginning with his first appearance on April 12, 2006. He went 0-2 with a 3.35 ERA.

New York Yankees On November 12, 2006, the Orioles traded Chris to the New York Yankees for right-handed pitcher Jaret Wright and $4 million.

He started the season at AAA Scranton but was called up on April 15, 2007.

On June 6, 2008, Chris was placed on the disabled list.

Career notes Chris is virtually unhittable for right-handed hitters. On the other hand, left-handed pitchers go to town on him.
