Adam Pettyjohn
Adam Christopher Pettyjohn is a professional baseball player from the United States of America who plays as a pitcher. Pettyjohn was a student at the Exeter High School and later on, went to the Fresno State University. In 1998's MLB Draft, the Detroit Tigers pocked up Pettyjohn as the 73rd overall pick in the second round.
Pettyjohn spent just three years in the minors and had a 1.97 ERA. In 2001, he made his MLB debut when he was 24. The following year, Pettyjohn underwent a collectomy and didn't play any baseball. The following year, he began playing with the Tigers but in March, was released by the Franchisee. In 2004, he moved to the San Francisco Giants and then to the Oakland Athletics. With the Athletics, he spent 2005 playing in the minors with the Long Beach Armada in the Golden Baseball League and then in 2006, after beginning with the Armada, joined the Athletics' MLB roster but never saw a game. Later in the same year, he moved to the Seattle Mariners.
Not staying anywhere too long, Pettyjohn decided to jump ship again and went to the Milwaukee Brewers in December 2006. He began in the AA-league with the Huntsville Stars of the Southern League and on the first day of the season, got a no-decision in a 4-3 win for the Stars. In June that year, he moved to the AAA-league with the Nashville Sounds but in 2008, decided to move to the Cincinnati Reds with a minor league contract.
He began 2008 with the Louisville Bats until the end of their season and then was called up to play for the Reds in the MLB, the first time he saw any Major League action since 2001.
At the International level, Pettyjohn was picked to represent Team USA in 1997.
