Jacob Quirin Fox
Jacob Quirin Fox is a professional baseball player from the United States of America who plays as an outfielder. Fox attended Cathedral High School, playing baseball for their team and then went on to attend the University of Michigan and had the privilege of being named to the First Team, All Big-Ten Conference honours.
In 2003, Fox was picked by the Chicago Cubs as part if the 2003 MLB Draft at 73rd overall. He spent the next three years playing in the A-league for the Lansing Lugnuts as well as the Daytona Cubs. Playing in the AA-Tennessee league in 2007, he was called up to the Cubs to replace Cesar Izturis who had been traded out to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was brought in to support multiple roles, that of an outfielder, a first baseman as well as the third catcher. His debut was as a pinch hitter against the San Francisco Giants.
In 2006, Fox won the Florida State League Player of the Month award for June as well as July first week's Player of the Week award. He was also named to the Florida State League All-Star team in 2006. In 2007, he was named as the Player of the Week in the third week of May, in the Southern League and was also named to the Southern League All-Star team.
