Yusmeiro Petit

A starting pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Yusmeiro Alberto Petit, was originally picked up by the New York Mets, as an undrafted free agaent in 2001. Ranked as the 46th best prospect by Baseball America, in 2005, and 69th prospect in 2006, Petit was traded to the Florida Marlins in 2005, along with first baseman Mike Jacobs and infielder Grant Psomas, in exchange for first baseman Carlos Delgado.

With Marlins, Petit played 15 games, starting one game, and went 1-1 with a 9.57 ERA. In 2007, Petit was once again traded, this time to the Arizona Diamondbacks, for Jorge Julio. In 2007, he also split time between the Tucson Sidewinders and the Diamondbacks.
