Benjamin Thomas Zobrist was born on May 26, 1981 in Eureka, Illinois. He is a utility fielder - a shortstop -for the Tampa Bay Rays.

High School Ben attended Eureka High School.
College Ben attended Olivet Nazarene University (in Illinois), then transferred to Dallas Baptist University.
Minor Leagues Ben was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 6th round of the 2004 draft, and went through their minor league system before being traded to Tampa Bay, along with Mitch Talbot, for Aubrey Huff and cash on July 12, 2006.
Major Leagues Ben made his major league debut for the Rays on August 1, 2006.
He spent a few games at AAA Durham during 2007 and 2008, but for the most part has been on the major league roster of the Rays.
Personal Ben and his wife, Julianna, live in Nashville during the off-season.
