Kurt Suzuki

*Kurt Kiyoshi Suzuki’ was born on October 4, 1983 in Wailuku, Hawaii. He is a starting catcher for the Oakland Athletics. CollegeKurt attended Cal State Fullerton.*Minor Leagues’ Kurt was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the second round of the 2004 amateur draft.

He was assigned to the Single-A Vancouver Canadians, where he batted .297.

Major Leagues Kurt was called up to the major leagues on June 9, 2007 and made his debut three days later as a pinch hitter in a game against the Houston Astros.

In 2008, Kurt became the As starting catcher, with Rob Bowen serving as the backup.
