Gregory Thomas Smith is a professional baseball player from the United States of America who plays as a pitcher. A graduate from the Louisiana State University, Smith was picked by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the sixth round of the 2005 MLB Draft.
After a couple of years in the minor leagues, Smith was traded out to the Oakland Athletics in a deal that also saw Brett Anderson, Dana Eveland, Carlos Gonzalez Chris Carter and Aaron Cunningham go to the Athletics in exchange for Dan Haren and Connor Robertson.
