Radhames Liz is a talented starting pitcher hailing from the Dominican Republic, known for his resilience and skill on the mound. Born on October 6, 1983, in El Seybo, he has made a name for himself in professional baseball, particularly with the Baltimore Orioles.

Early Career

Liz's journey to the big leagues is a remarkable one, starting with his late introduction to baseball at the age of 16. Recognizing his potential, the Baltimore Orioles signed him on February 14, 2003, transforming him into a pitcher. His career in the United States began with the short-season Aberdeen IronBirds, followed by a stint with the Class A Delmarva Shorebirds in 2005.

Progression Through the Minors

In 2006, he stepped up to the Frederick Keys, the Orioles' highest Single-A team, before earning a promotion to the AA Bowie Baysox. It was in 2007 that Liz truly shone, finishing the season with an impressive 11-4 record, a 3.22 ERA, and a remarkable 161 strikeouts over 137 innings. His performance earned him a call-up to the majors on August 24, 2007, when he faced the Minnesota Twins at Oriole Park. Although he struggled in that start, his potential was clear, and he returned to the minors to hone his craft.
