*Sean John Rodriguez’ was born on April 26, 1985 in Miami, Florida. He plays second base for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.High SchoolSean attended Miami Coral Park Senior High School, where he was coached by Jose Novas. Because he was unhappy playing center field for Coral Park, he transferred to G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School so he could play infield there.*Minor Leagues’ Sean was drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 3rd round (90th overall) of the 2003 Major League Baseball draft.

In 2003, Sean played for the Rookie League Tempe Angels. In 54 games, he batted .269 with 2 home runs.

In 2004, Sean began with the Rookie League Provo Angels and was then promoted to the Single-A Cedar Rapids Kernels. In a combined 121 games, he batted .297 with 14 home runs. He was named to the Pioneer League postseason All-Star game and was the MVP of the game.

Sean spent the entire 2005 season with the Kernels. In 124 games he batted just .250 with 14 home runs.

In 2006, Sean started with the A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, was promoted to the AA Arkansas Travelers, and then to the AAA Salt Lake Bees (for whom he would play in a single game) In a combined 135 games, he batted .307 with 29 home runs.

Sean spent the entire 2007 season with the Travelers. He played in a career high 136 games, batting .254 with 17 home runs and 73 RBIs.

On November 2, 2007, Rodriguez’s contract was purchased by the Angels, which protected him from the Rule 5 draft.

Sean began the 2008 season with the AAA Salt Lake Bees. On April 18, 2008, he was brought up to the majors and made his major league debut the next day against the Seattle Mariners.

His tenure in the majors is likely to be short, as his batting average to date is below the Mendoza line.
