Flavio Cobolli was born on May 6, 2002, in Florence, Italy, and resides in Rome. Standing 183 cm tall and weighing 71 kg, he plays right-handed with a two-handed backhand.

He turned professional in 2020 and is coached by his father, former player Stefano Cobolli. In 2024, Flavio named Novak Djokovic as his tennis idol. That year, he also signed a sponsorship deal with sneaker brand On, having previously been sponsored by Lotto Sport Italia.

Cobolli won the 2020 French Open boys' doubles title alongside Dominic Stricker, marking a major highlight of his junior career.

Career

Since turning professional in 2020, Cobolli has made steady progress on the ATP Challenger Tour and ATP Tour. He reached his first Challenger final in Rome in 2021 and claimed his maiden Challenger title at the 2022 Zadar Open.

After breaking into the top 100 in 2023, Cobolli made his Grand Slam main draw debut at Roland Garros and reached the top 50 following a series of strong results in 2024.

In 2025, Cobolli claimed his first ATP singles title at the Romanian Open, defeating top seed Sebastián Báez in the final. He followed up with his biggest career victory at the Hamburg Open, where he beat former World No. 5 Andrey Rublev to win his second ATP title.

Cobolli has also reached the third round at the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open, and the second round at Wimbledon.
