Mark Anthony Viduka is an Australian international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Newcastle United. He is of Croatian descent and is a striker. Viduka captained Australia at the 2006 Germany World Cup.

Mark Viduka started his professional club career at Australian side Melbourne Knights in 1993 and after two season and 40 goals in 49 league matches, he moved to Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb and played for them for three seasons, scoring 40 goals in 81 league matches.

Celtic signed the Aussie from Zabreb for 3.5 million pounds but due to a financial dispute between two clubs, Viduka couldn’t make his debut for Celtic until February 1999.

Mark Viduka was voted Scottish Player of the Year for 1999-2000 for scoring 27 goals in his first full season for Celtic.

After two prolific seasons for Celtic between 1998 and 2000 in which he scored 30 times in just 37 Scottish Premier League matches, Mark Viduka was signed by Leeds United in 2000 for 6 million pounds.

Viduka was a real star at Leeds in the four years that he played for them and was one of the reasons for Leeds progressing in the UEFA Champions League. He scored 59 goals in 130 Premiership matches for Leeds.

Middlesbrough signed Mark Viduka in 2004 and after three seasons and 26 goals in 76 Premiership matches, he was sigend by Newcastle United in 2007.

Mark Viduka made his international debut for Australia in 1994 and has played 43 times so far for his nation, scoring 11 goals. He was the captain of the Australian national side at the 2006 Germany World Cup. He also captained Australia to the nation’s first ever participation in the 2007 Asian Cup.
