Bobby Hoffman aka “The Truth” is a retired American mixed martial artist born in Centerville, Iowa, United States on October 28, 1966. Hoffman has formerly competed for the UFC, RINGS, and Jungle Fight.

He was the King of the Cage Super Heavyweight Champion, as well as the former King of the Cage Heavyweight Champion. But before he became the champion we all know now, he was once jailed for assault charges.

Hoffman was also football player. He attended Ellsworth Community College and the University of Akron before leaving college to compete in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns. He spent half of a season with them then was released.

Hoffman is one tough fighter as he does not back out of challenges. Two days out of jail, he attended a local fight and after the originally scheduled fighter did not show up he stepped in and won the fight.

Hoffman made his RINGS debut, on February 26, 2000 in Tokyo, Japan at the RINGS: King of Kings 1999 Final. Hoffman was pitted versus Zaza Tkeshelashvili, whom he defeated through a knockout with just 34 seconds in the clock. After winning six more fight which includes future Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion, DREAM Heavyweight Champion, and K-1 World Grand Prix Champion Alistair Overeem, Hoffman was invited to compete for the UFC.

Hoffman’s first UFC fight was against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Maurice Smith at UFC 27. Hoffman, who is not in his greatest shape, lost the bout. Eight days later, Hoffman found redemption by winning the RINGS USA: Rising Stars Tournament and then had two more fights with the Japan-based organization before returning to the UFC at UFC 30.

Hoffman became the King of the Cage Super Heavyweight Champion on June 23, 2001 after defeating Kauai Kupihea. Hoffman was later stripped of his title after leaving the promotion. Hoffman returned to fight for the UFC at UFC 34 against Josh Barnett. Even though Bobby Hoffman lost the bout, both fighters failed the drug tests for the fight, Hoffman resulted positive from marijuana, and Barnett tested positive multiple banned substances. This would be Hoffman's last fight for the UFC.
