Tiger Slam is a popular term in golf, which originated from the golf legend, Tiger Woods. This term is somehow connected to The Grand Slam is where the player is winning all of the major championships within a year. Meanwhile, the Tiger Slam, also known as the Non-Calendar Year Grand Slam, is holding all the major titles yet not particularly within the same year, just like what Tiger Woods did before. For the record, only Bobby Jones was able to win the Grand Slam in the 1930s.

The Achievements of Tiger Woods

When someone talks about golf, everyone would automatically think about Tiger Woods, who made golf as a prominent sport. There were times where he won four major golf events within a 365-period, however, his victories are spread into halves. Three events happened in 2000, while the other one was in 2001. Even though he simultaneously won 4 major events, still this was not referred to as The Grand Slam, but rather as The Consecutive Grand Slam.

The Documentary about Tiger Slam

Because of the prominence that golf has received because of Tiger Woods, he was named as "The Greatest Golf Player". This has caught the media's attention and eventually made an hour-long documentary called "The Tiger Slam", discussing how Tiger Woods made efforts to be champion in 4 major golf championship. He was compared to Michael Jordan, a basketball player, who also chased many NBA championships.

Tiger Slam: The Modern Grand Slam

When Tiger Woods had successfully won those major championships within 2 years, much thought to officially change from The Non-CAlendar Year Grand Slam to The Tiger Slam. However, this raised many debates among golf enthusiasts and commentators because even before Tiger Woods have done this, some notable golf players have already accomplished it.

Other Players Who Won the Grand Slam

Gene Sarazen is one of the popular golf players in the 1930s alongside Bobby Jones. Sarazen had won the British Open Championship and the US Open Championship in 1932, then won the PGA Championship in the following year. Along with Tiger Woods, Ben Hogan was able to win three championships in major golf events in 1953.
