Sandhya Agarwal was born in Indore in Madhya Pradesh in India in 1963. She is a former captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket team in India. Her major teams include the India Women and the Railways Women team.

This right hander and right arm off break bowler has played in overall 13 test matches from the period 1984 to 1995. She scored 1110 runs with a batting average of 50.45 which also included four centuries and four half centuries. Sandhya also reached her highest score of 190 whilst playing against the England team in 1986. With right to ODI, she has played in 21 matches scoring 567 runs with a batting average of 31.50 including four half centuries.

She is believed to have beaten the record of Betty Snowball of England who made 189 runs which had held the record in the women’s test cricket since 1935. However, in 1987, another women player, Denise Annetts broke Sandhya’s record by scoring 193 runs.
