Arnold Dyson
Arnold Dysonimage:Arnold Dyson|Arnold Dyson is also known as Arnold Herbert Dyson and this all rounder was an English first class cricket player who had played for the team of Glamorgan. Born in 1905, Arnold played as a right hand opening batsman and partnered Emrys Davies too.
This right arm medium player was also a consistent batsman who passed 1000 runs in all except for one from 1931 to 1947. During his time as a cricketer, Dyson set a record of 305 successive appearances in the County Championship. In 1939, he took a well earned opportunity and scored a testimonial in the Championship winning season in 1948. During this time, he made his final appearance for his adopted county, post which, he coached at Oundle School.
His career statistics show that throughout his career in cricket, Arnold played in 413 first class matches with 17,923 runs, at a batting average of 27.15. Further, he made 24 hundreds and almost 92 fifties in the matches. His top performance score was 208, with 195 balls bowled. His bowling average came to 160.00, with best bowling being 1 for 9. Other than that, he caught 243 catches and made one stumpings.
