Despite his age, Manny Pacquiao has sent excitement to his fans after he announced that he will be fighting against welterweight world champion Errol Spence. This would be the first time he will fight again after he bested Keith Thurman in July 2019 for the WBA welterweight title.
Quoted from his Twitter post, “Pacquiao v Spence, August 21, 2021, Las Vegas, Nevada.” Although the venue for the big event is expected to be at the MGM Grand, still the People’s Champion hoped that the management would change it to the Allegiant Stadium.
Erol Spence is a former WBC and IBF welterweight world champion, while Pacquiao has the record of 62 wins, 7 losses, and 39 KOs and has won eight world titles. Pacquiao is currently serving as one of the senators in the Philippines. With his political responsibility, he hopes that this might be his last fight.
Many fans commented over Pacquiao’s Twitter post and said that they believe in him and one of the biggest reasons why boxing is still alive is because of Manny Pacquiao. The People’s Champion has embarked a mark for himself throughout the years in the boxing industry and strived that this fight will be another legendary fight.
Fans believed that Manny Pacquiao can still carry a fight and he might give Erol Spence a hard time defending his title. Spence’s fans too were thrilled and used the champion’s youthfulness to be a great advantage to win the match. The game is set to happen on August 21, 2021.
