Christian James McCollum was born on September 19, 1991, in Canton, Ohio. He stands 191 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 86 kg. He is a shooting guard and a point guard and shoots right-handed.

He is the younger brother of Errick McCollum who also plays basketball professionally. He has an interest in journalism and also hosts a podcast.

High School and College Career

He attended GlenOak High School in Canton, Ohio. Later, he committed to play college basketball for Lehigh University and he was there from 2009 to 2013.

In 2010, he was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year. In 2012, he was also named the Patriot League tournament MVP.

From 2010 to 2012, he was named to the First-team All-Patriot League. Then in 2010 and 2012, he was named Patriot League Player of the Year and the AP Honorable Mention All-American.

Professional Career

In 2013, McCollum turned pro. He was selected in the 1st round of the 2013 NBA Draft. He was the 10th overall pick of the draft, picked by the Portland Trail Blazers. He played for the Trail Blazers from 2012 to 2022.

In 2014, he also played for a bit with the Idaho Stampede in the NBA G League. In 2016, he was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player.

In 2022, McCollum signed with the New Orleans Pelicans. As of 2024, he still plays for the Pelicans. In 2024, he was given the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award.
