Carve

In tennis, a Carve is a type of shot that combines underspin and sidespin.

The player hits the ball with a slicing motion across its surface. This creates a low, spinning trajectory that can be difficult to return.

Carve shots are often used as defensive or tactical plays. They can slow down the pace of a rally or force an opponent out of position. Carves work well on all court surfaces but are particularly useful on grass.
