Dominika Cibulkova is a Slovak former professional tennis player, most notably the 2016 WTA Finals champion, a title she won on her debut. She is also the first female Slovak player to reach a Grand Slam singles final.
She won eight WTA Tour singles titles and achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 4 in March 2017.

Dominika Navara Cibulková was born on May 6, 1989, in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. She stands 160 cm tall and she plays right-handed with a two-handed backhand. She currently resides in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.Cibulková was introduced to tennis at the age of eight in Piešťany, and her family moved to Bratislava when she was eleven. Her mother, Katarína Cibulková, is a Slovak lawyer and politician. Her signature expression, "Pome," is a slang spelling of the Slovak word "Poďme," which translates to "Let's go." With the help of her friend Marion Bartoli, she began a clothing line featuring this statement in 2014.
On July 9, 2016, Cibulková married her fiancé Michal Navara. Not long after announcing her retirement, she revealed that she was expecting her first child, a son born in June 2020. In September 2022, she announced her second pregnancy.
Professional Career
Dominika Cibulková turned professional in 2004. Standing at 160 cm tall, she was one of the shorter players on the WTA Tour, but her powerful baseline game helped her achieve great success.She is one of only four players to win the season-ending WTA Finals on her debut, capturing the championship in 2016. That same year, she won three additional singles titles and reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 4 in March 2017.
Cibulková's most notable Grand Slam achievement came at the Australian Open in 2014, where she became the first female Slovak to reach the singles final of a major tournament. She reached the quarterfinals or better at all four Grand Slam events at least once during her career, including the semifinals of the French Open in 2009 and the quarterfinals of both Wimbledon and the US Open.
Overall, she won eight WTA Tour singles titles and one doubles title, along with two singles titles on the ITF Circuit.
In team competitions, she was a key member of the Slovak team. Cibulková helped Slovakia win the Hopman Cup in 2009 and reach the semifinals of the Billie Jean King Cup (formerly Fed Cup) in 2013.
Cibulková officially retired from professional tennis in 2019.
