Marion Bartoli
Marion Bartoli is a French tennis player who is best known for winning 7 WTA as well as for being a runner up at the Wimbledon Championships in 2007.
At a very young heart of 6, Marion was already taught to learn and play tennis which was introduced to her by her father, Dr. Walter Bartoli. She was born in Le Puy en Velay, France and presently residing in Switzerland. Marion is also interested with jet skiing, volleyball and basketball.
She is indeed a physically-fit young lady at 27 and love doing outdoor sports especially tennis. Marion turned pro in 2000. Sampras and Seles are among her idols and inspiration on the field that are also influential in gaining her achievements. Moreover, she won the US Open single title in 2001 where she defeated Kuznetsova in the final.
Marion started her first career games in three events way back in 1999 during the ITF Circuit in France. Continued to play on ITF Circuit and won three titles for singles in 2001. She delivered remarkable performance for doubles in 2003 and made it to two of the finals and five in the semi-finals which includes the US Open partnered with Casanova. It was also one of her achievements in 2004 to reach the top 20 notch over Rubin of Wimbledon. In 2005, she garnered her first Grand Slam run at 3rd runner up in the US Open. Then, among the first top 20 finish, 3 of which are her first tour singles titles.
Her titles include three career singles in 2006 for Quebec City, Tokyo (Japan Open) and Auckland. On the other hand, she is holding three career titles for doubles as well, for Prague in 2006 together with Peer, in 2005 at Pattaya City partnered with Groenefeld and in 2004, with Loit at Casablanca. Added to that, she is also part of the French Fed Cup team in 2004. Currently, Bartoli is ranked at No. 9 as of October 17, 2011.
Although Bartoli has appeared in the Grand Slam tournaments since turning pro, she has yet to win a single title for either singles or doubles.
