Her parents are Attilio and Rita, and she has two brothers, Andrea, who is an engineer, and Alessandro, a student. Brianti speaks Italian, English, and French. Her favorite playing surface is hard court, and her favorite tournaments are the Wimbledon Championships and the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

Alberta Brianti turned professional in 2000. She achieved her career-high singles ranking of world No. 55 in June 2011. She won one singles title on the WTA Tour, capturing the Grand Prix de SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem in 2011 by defeating Simona Halep in the final.In Grand Slam singles play, her best result was a third-round appearance at the Australian Open in 2010. She also made it to the second round of the Wimbledon Championships in the same year.
In doubles, Brianti won two WTA titles and achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 68 in February 2012. She retired from professional tennis in 2017.
