Frederick Alexander was an American tennis player in the early 20th century. He won the singles title at the 1908 Australasian Championships and six doubles titles at Grand Slam events. He was the first player from the U.S. to win the men's singles title at the Australasian Championships.

Frederick Beasley Alexander was born on August 14, 1880, in Sea Bright, New Jersey, USA, and he passed away on March 3, 1969, in Beverly Hills, California. He attended Princeton University.

Professional Career

Alexander's career as an amateur began in 1899, and he retired from tennis in 1920.

His greatest success was in doubles, where he won six Grand Slam titles. He won a record-setting five consecutive US Open doubles titles from 1907 to 1911, and a sixth in 1917. His best Grand Slam singles result was winning the 1908 Australasian Championships.

Alexander was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1961.
