Magdalena Rybarikova
Magdalena Rybarikova is one of the known professional female tennis players in Slovakia. Born on October 4, 1988, in Piestany, Slovakia and now residing in Bratislava, Slovakia, Rybarikova played in the Juniors Tournament since the beginning of 2002 but competed in the ITF circuit consistently.
By 2006, she was able to reach the finals at the Wimbledon Juniors division. That same year, she took hold of two championship titles at the ECM Prague Open. This pushed her to the first tour in the quarterfinals.
She finally won a title to advance her to the qualifying rounds for the main draws of Wimbledon and Roland Garros in 2008. Later at the French Open she won a game against Karolina Sprem with a 7-6, 3-6, 8-6 score. She entered the qualifying round but lost a game to Danira Safira in the second round with a 6-0, 6-1 score.
The tournaments Rybarikova played in the finals of ITF Circuits include a game match against Sarah Raab in Cairo, Egypt with a 6-1, 6-3 on April 9, 2005; against Kira Nagy in Mestre, Italy with a 6-2, 7-5 score on September 17, 2005; against Anna Lapushchenkova in St. Petersburg-Vsevolozhsk, Russia; and against Anne Keothavong in Patras Greece with a 6-3, 7-5 score on April 12, 2008.
Rybarikova started playing tennis when she was 7 years old. Peter Huber now professionally coaches her. Playing strong in her right-hand, she is as well strong with her two-handed backhand. Her favorite surface is clay.
Since turning pro, Rybarikova has a career record of 404 victories and 274 losses. Throughout her career so far, she has 4 WTA titles and 9 ITF titles to her name. However, she has not yet won a Grand Slam title, but she was able to reach the semi-final round at Wimbledon in 2017. Her most recent appearance at a Grand Slam tournament was at the 2018 Australian Open. Rybarikova has recently reached her career highest rank at No. 17, as of March 2018.
Since turning pro, Rybarikova has a career record of 425 victories and 304 losses. She also won 4 WTA and 9 ITF career titles in singles. In doubles, she has a career record of 65 victories and 70 losses. Currently, she is ranked at No. 139 as of July 1, 2019. Rybarikova still has to win a Grand Slam tournament but has already made appearances at the four Grand Slam events.
