Professional Career
Loit turned professional in 1994. Her career was marked by her success in both singles and doubles, particularly on clay courts. She won all three of her singles titles on the WTA Tour on clay, with victories at the Estoril Open and the Grand Prix de SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem (in Casablanca) in 2004, and the Mexican Open (in Acapulco) in 2007. She achieved her career-high singles ranking of World No. 27 in April 2004.In doubles, Loit was even more successful, winning 16 titles on the WTA Tour and achieving a career-high ranking of World No. 15 in November 2003. Her best Grand Slam doubles results were quarterfinal appearances at the French Open in 2003 and 2005, the Wimbledon Championships in 2004, and the US Open in 1998.
Loit was a member of the French Billie Jean King Cup (formerly Fed Cup) team that won the title in 2003. She announced her retirement from professional tennis on May 24, 2009, after losing her first-round match at the French Open.
