Fifteen-times Grand Slam winner Serena Williams has played down Caroline Wozniacki recent impersonation of her which was labelled by some observers as “racist”.

The 31-year-old American said she is “friends” with Wozniacki and took no offence by the joke, where the Dane stuffed towels down her shirt and skirt to make a fuller figure like Williams at a light-hearted match in Brazil.

“I know Caro and I would call her my friend and I don’t think she (meant) anything racist by it,” Williams told USA Today.

“Roddick and Djokovic do it all the time and Caro does (it) and now it’s racist??

“At the end of the day I spend my time focused on things to become better and not bring me down.”
