Rafael Nadal is set to return to action later this month after revealing he’s ready to get back on the court at the Abu Dhabi exhibition tournament.
The 11-time Grand Slam winner hasn’t played since his shock exit in the second round of Wimbledon to Lukas Rosol in June due to knee problems.
However, the Spaniard took to social media to reveal his return is imminent.
“Can’t wait to get back on court in Abu Dhabi at the end of the month,” Nadal wrote on his Twitter and Facebook pages.
“I won the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in 2010 and 2011 - would love to get my hands on the trophy again this year.”
The Abu Dhabi exhibition event commences on December 27 and runs for three days.
However, Nadal has already tried to cool expectations on his return and stated his focus will be the 2013 French Open.
Earlier this month he said: “I don’t expect to return and win the Australian Open. I want to be 100 percent fit in time for the Monte Carlo Masters and the run-up to the French Open.”
