Argentine world number seven Juan Martin del Potro insists he’s the rank outsider to win the 2012 ATP Tour Finals in London after his shock win over Roger Federer.
Del Potro’s 7–6 (7–3), 4–6, 6–3 win over the Swiss superstar progressed him to the semi-finals of the event, alongside 2012 Grand Slam winners Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
“I don’t know who is the favourite,” Del Potro said. “Djokovic, Murray or Federer can win the tournament. I can tell you I’m the No. 4 for sure.”
He added: “Now you have three big names in the semi-finals and one big guy.”
Del Potro will take on Djokovic in the final four after he accounted for Tomas Berdych 6–2, 7–6 (8–6) on Day 5.
In the other semi-final, Federer and Murray will meet after the Briton got past Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6–2, 7–6 (7–3).
