Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki found some form ahead of the season-ending WTA Championships by defeating Samantha Stosur to win the Kremlin Cup in Moscow.
The Dane, who also won in Seoul last month, clinched her 20th career title with a hard-fought 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 triumph over the Australian.
Wozniacki is now shaping up into some good form ahead of the WTA Championships in Istanbul, although she was cool on talk she was back to her best.
“I definitely think I played some great tennis up there,” Wozniacki said. “And I’m pleased about the way I’ve been playing at this tournament.”
Wozniacki said she believed Serena Williams should be considered the favourite for Istanbul.
“Serena is definitely a favourite always, indoors she’s serving well and she has good shots,” Wozniacki said.
