World No.1 Roger Federer is confident that he will clinch the Wimbledon title yet again. This will be the sixth consecutive Wimbledon title that he will be looking forward to, if ever. Federer, who considers grass his home court, reached the semifinals by crushing Mario Ancic with 6-1, 7-5, 64 scores.
He will be competing against a World No. 1 Marat Safin in the semi-finals. The 26-year old Swiss is confident that he will be winning the Wimbledon “for the next five or ten years”. 28-year old Marat Safin was once tagged as the “next big thing” grabbing the World No. 1 title from Pete Sampras in 2000. Injuries have hindered his chances of holding on to the number one spot.
The King of Clay Rafael Nadal is determined to stop Federer in his tracks. He demolished Andy Murray and is set to compete in the quarterfinals. Nadal says he is getting better in grass court matches and vows to be the second man to win both the French Open and Wimbledon in one year. He is yet to learn who is opponent will be but it will be either No.94 Rainier Schuettler or No. 145 Arnaud Clement.
