World number seven Jo-Wilfried Tsonga says he has had a “perfect week” after defending his Moselle Open title in Metz on Sunday with a straight sets victory over Italian Andreas Seppi.
The Frenchman triumphed 6-1, 6-2 over Seppi, having got past Nikolay Davydenko in the semis, claiming his second title of the year after his victory in Doha in January.
“Today I played a complete match. I played very, very well. I am happy to have defended my title which has given me a little boost,” Tsonga said.
“I don’t need to find a phrase to sum up my week, just a word. Perfect.”
In the WTA Tour, Caroline Wozniacki claimed glory at the Hansol Korea Open with a final victory over Estonian world number 16 Kaia Kanepi 6-1, 6-0.
Wozniacki’s victory ends a 13-month wait for a title, however there’s no time to enjoy it with the tour moving on to the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
