Sharapova Still Has the Spirit of a Fighter

Maria Sharapova is not the athlete to let any injury hold her back.

Maria Sharapova is not the athlete to let any injury hold her back. Though her return is on hold and her participation is unsure but her earliest return would be one month from now. Her next game is tentatively on March 11 to 22, 2009 in Indian Wells, California or possibly for the games held in Miami.Maria Sharapova>

Sharapova missed two Grand Slam tournaments in the past. One was the U.S. Open and the other Australian Open.

According to her own website, Sharapova expressed that she is hoping to return in March 25 to April 4 for events to be held in Key Biscayne, Florida. But she, herself, thinks that it would still depend on how things would shape up. She possesses the passion in her return on the courts no matter what she had been through.

The tennis world observed that the three-time Grand Slam champion was not playing her best anymore after her tournament in Montreal last year. It was that time that she won an almost 3-hour match but made 17 double-faults. Unexpectedly, she withdrew from the match half way during the three-set victory and before her next game. It was later known that the champion was suffering from a torn rotator cuff tendon in one of her shoulders.

Sharapova was just behind the scene since the last time she was diagnosed with her physical discomfort. Despite that she was able to pull this week’s indoor game held in Paris and hopefully next week’s game in Dubai on hard court.
