Due to a heel injury, Nikolay Davydenko will be unable to compete in the Australian Open this year. The pain has been bothering him since the last season. It has intensified during the last few weeks of December last year.>
Nikolay was even unable to finish a game in the Chennai Open in India because of his condition. On top of that, it was raining as well. Now, he finds it too impossible to run and play. Because of this, Chennai physician advised him not to continue any future games even if he needs to.
The pain was already troubling him while he was playing a game against Novak Djokovic at the Masters Cup in China last season.
He expressed that this might be a serious injury because despite the painkillers he took last week, the pain in his left heel was excruciating. The temporary therapies did not help much as well. Nikolay is anticipating that he will not be able to step on the courts in the next few months and this include the Australian Open, which is rather disappointing.
Nikolay decided to go home to get an extensive diagnosis and see what is wrong. He has no idea of the extent of the damage but hopefully will get the needed treatment the soonest possible time.
