Ittihad FC or Ittihad Football Club is also known simply by Itti (The Tigers) or Al-Ittihad. This is a Saudi Premier League football club having its base in Jeddah. The team won eight League titles and holds 45 official championships, three of which are Asian championships.
Ittihad is a successful club not only in football, but also in water polo, basketball, swimming, table tennis and volleyball, amongst others. Overall, Ittihad has won 661 trophies, with football being the primary sport. The Chairman of the club is Mohammed Bin Dakhel with Raul Caneda being the head coach of the team.
Founded in 1927 as the oldest club in Saudi Arabia, the team won many honors both domestically and in Asia. This team has won 2 Champions League titles in 2004 and in 2005 and is the only Asian club to have won AFC Champions League twice in a row. Some of the famous and noted players of the team include former striker Hamzah Idris, Al Hasan Al-Yami, Ahmad Jamil and Bebeto, an international Brazilian player from 2001 to 2002.
