The team representing the under-21s of Germany in UEFA European under-21 Football Championship is named as the Germany National under-21 football team. The team is controlled by the German governing body of football, German Football Association (DFB).

The team is formed by the reunification of the East Germany and the West Germany; prior to this the East Germany and the West Germany were playing separately for the UEFA’s youth competition until 1990. The Germany National Under-21 Cricket team can rightfully be considered as recent embodiment of the West German team, as the team is playing with the uniform, flag as well as football association of West Germany Team. The team plays their home matches in white shirt, black shorts and white socks and away matches in black shirt, white shorts and black shorts.

The team has been captained by Lewis Holby and is coached by an experienced coach like Rainer Adnion. The team consists of some of the great performers like Fabian Ernst who has been awarded with caps for the maximum number of times in a team and Pierre Littbarski, who has been the top scorer in a team for 18 times.

Germany national under-21 football team has been a thorough performer since its inception and has emerged as a champion of the UEFA U-21 Championship record in the year 2009.
