Falkirk have been raising their profile and gaining progress in the reent years. After several years of hard work, they finally managed to get promoted to the Scottish Premier League in April 2005 and have been playing in the Scottish top flight since then.
Falkirk finished tenth in their maiden season in the Scottish Premier League and went onto seventh in the table both in 2007-2008 and in 2008-2009.
Falkirk play their home matches at the Falkirk Stadium that can accomodate 8,000 spectators. The capacity of the stadium is going to be increased to 12,350 soon.
Falkirk bear the nickname “The Bairns”.
