Notts County
Notts County FC are an English football club based in Nottingham. They are the oldest professional league club in the world and currently feature in League One.
Notts County were established in 1862 and along with 11 other football clubs in England founded the Football League in 1888. They finished third in the 1890-1891 season and did so too ten seasons later.
In 1926 Notts County suffered relegation from the top flight and did not return to the division for over half a century. The next time they played in England’s first division was in 1981 and stayed there for the subsequent three years, also reaching a FA Cup final during the time.
In this decade Notts County have struggled with financial crisis and relegation battles. But things seem to be improving now as they have now gone for offshore takeover and have also made the former England national football team coach Sven-Göran Eriksson their Director of Football.
Notts County play their home games at Meadow Lane that can accommodate 19,588 spectators. They bear the nickname The Magpies.
