Treze Futebol Clube
Campina Grande, a city in the Paraiba state, is host to Treze Futebol Clube, a team that plays in Serie C in the Brazilian football league structure. The team was founded by Antonio Fernandes Bioca, along with 12 other fans of the game, in 1925. Antonio was also the person who introduced the game to the state of Paraiba.
The team played its first game in a month after their formation and beat a local team called Palmeiras by a goal to nil. Since then, the club went onto 13 state championships and 5 seasons in top-flight football in 1976, 1977, 1979, 1982 and 1983.
