Team profile
Atletico Lugano
Club Atletico Lugano was founded on the 18th of November, 1915, like many other clubs, by a group of railway workers. Originally named Club Compania General Belgrano, as the workers were from Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano, the team was affiliated to the Argentine Amateur Football Association in 1924.
Currently playing in the 5th division of the Argentine Football Association league system, the club changed their name to Club Atletico General Belgrano de Lugano only in 1953 and then again in 1986 to their current name. Their only title win is the Primera D in the 1987-88 season.
