Mišo BrečkoMišo Brečko> is a Slovenian football player who plays as a defender or also as a midfielder for German club, 1 FC Koln and the Slovenian national team. Born in Trbovlje, he began his football career at NK Rudar Trbovlje youth team.

Brečko made his debut in international football at youth level whilst playing for the Slovenian under 17, 19 and under 21 teams. Overall, he made 15 appearances for Slovenia U-21. His senior international debut was in a friendly match held against Slovakia in 2004 in Trnava.

During his high school days, Brečko played a few games in Slovenian Third League for Factor Ljubljana. By 2003-04, he made 21 appearances in PrvaLiga for Smartno. For this team, he made 19 appearances. In July 2004, he joined Hamburger SV team, during which time he made seven appearances in his first season itself.

By 2005-06, he was loaned to Hansa Rostock and in 2006-07; he was loaned to FC Erzgebirge Aue when he made 14 appearances and one goal. After two successful seasons, he played around 14 matches for HSV in 2007-08 season. He joined 1. FC Koln team on free transfer in 2008 and signed a three year deal. By 2010, this contract got extended till 2013.
