Robbie Rogers is a professional football player who was born on May 12, 1987 in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, United States. He is best known for currently playing for Columbus Crew, a club which is a part of the Major League Soccer.
When he was younger, Rogers studied at the mater Dei High School in Santa Ana California. During his high school years, he was a High School All-American two times. As a result, he pursued his football playing when he entered the University of Maryland. Rogers also aided the university’s team into the winning the NCAA Championships in 2005. He also experienced playing with Orange County Blue Star, which is a part of the Premier Development League.
By 2006, Rogers turned pro, and landed a contract with a club in the Dutch Eredivisie, Heerenveen. However, due to certain issues, Rogers was not able to make a first appearance with the club. As a result, he was acquired by Columbus Crew at the start of the MLS 2007 season after they were able to win the Draft Lottery for Rogers. It was then that he became a huge part of Columbus Crew, so much so that he was named the MLS Best XI in 2008.
Rogers is also a part of the United States national team. As a part of the team since 2009, he was able to earn 12 caps and score 1 goal for the country. Unfortunately, Rogers was not able to make it to the 23 man cut for the national team that represented the United States to the FIFA World Cup in 2010.
