Carlos Alberto Galvan is an Argentine footballer who plays as a defender. Galvan began his professional football career with Racing Club de Avellaneda, in 1992. He remained with the club till 1998, when he decided to move to Brazil, where he joined Clube Atletico Miniero. During his time in Brazil Galvan was at the peak of his performance, and was known as a skilled defender. His headers and keen sense of positioning were much appreciated.

With Atletico Miniero, Galvan went on to win the Minas Gerais state, as well as runner up position in the Brazilian Championship in 1999. He joined Santos F.C. soon after and went on to win the Sao Paulo State Championship in 2000. Galvan remained with both teams for two seasons, and is remembered for his fight on the field during his tenure with Atletico, when he was sent off the field, with three other players. Unfortunately, his time with Santos is marked by a self goal, which is scored at Vila Belmiro, against the team’s biggest rivals Corinthians. In 2004, Galvan had a stint with Paysandu Sport Club as well.

In 2002, Galvan returned home to Argentina, and joind Club Atletico Lanus, though in 2004 he went for a short stint with Ciudad de Murcia, in Spain. Some other club Galvan was associated with include Club Olimpia, Paraguay and Argentinos Juniors, in Argentina.

Galvan joined his current club, Universitario de Deportes, in 2007, and had announced in February 2009 that he would retire sometime in December, 2010, and take up the position of coach for the youth team of the club.

Some of his most noteworthy title wins include the Campeonato Mineiro in 1999 and 2000, which with Mineiro, the Torneo Apertura 2008, with Universitario de Deportes, as well as the Campeonato Descentralizado in 2009, with the same club.
