Edgar Villamarin Arguedas is a professional footballer from Peru who plays as a defender. Villamarin began his playing career with Sporting Cristal in 2003. He was a reserve team member and continued in that same position when he moved to Atletico Universidad in 2004.
Towards the latter part of his stint with Atletico Universidad, Villamarin moved into the playing eleven after a few impressive performances as a substitute. He ended up with 15 caps at the end of the season, moving to Union Huaral towards the end of 2004.
For the next two seasons, Villamarin struggled to get into the starting lineup at Huaral. He played just 13 league games over the two seasons, barely making any mark on the coaching staff. In 2007, Villamarin finally got his big break into a starting eleven when he moved to Cienciano. He played every game in the season and also got his first goal at the highest level.
In 2008, his previous season’s performance got him a shot at playing with Chornomorets but Villamarin just played 8 games in the entire season, relegated to the bench for the best part of the 2008 season.
In 2009, Villamarin moved to Universitario de Deportes where he played 11 games on the way to winning the 2009 Campeonato Decentralizado tournament. Villamarin moved to Alianza Lima for the 2010 season.
